Golf day sponsor
On April 24th and 25th 2025, Hive19 were delighted to sponsor the fourth annual Ryder Cup golf tournament, at the East Sussex National resort in Uckfield.
Partnering up with the event organiser (partner SEO agency Search Seven). we were so excited to join this year’s tournament as a sponsor, for two jam-packed days of intense golfing in the glorious springtime sun – all to help raise money for Brighton-based children’s charity Rockinghorse.
Rockinghorse Ryder Cup
Two fiercely competitive friends, not usually needing an excuse to go golfing…
Now in it’s fourth year, with the scores a close 2-1 to the yellows (Gavin’s team, of Search Seven) – the ‘Rockinghorse Ryder Cup’ brings together a mixture of fine agency folk and brilliant business people to compete in the name of charity.
The brilliant work that Rockinghorse do to support young people in hospital brought together the two team captains some ten years ago, and their fund raising efforts ever since has been nothing short of magnificent.
Our lovely Aaron had never played golf before… though, as one of the event’s sponsors in true spirit he decided to jump in that buggy and hit the course.
He did however never leave that buggy, instead opting to deliver much needed drinks and sweets to the groups (it was a scorching day, and 18 holes takes a long time).
Jordan from Diginius was his co-caddier, and together they proved very fine waterboys for those in full swing.
The evening
After the blue-wash of day 1 (it wasn’t even close, team blue had pulverised their yellow adversaries) we all sat down to hear from our team captains, Rockinghorse themselves… and try our hand at the raffle.
Some sensible folk then went off to bed, for a nice early rise and a clear head out on course. Others, on the other hand did not – and instead enjoyed a drink or two at the bar.
Day two
There were some sore heads at the breakfast table, with the yellows regrouping to try and claw some dignity back within the scoring. But, before long both teams were back out on the course and in full swing once again.
18 holes, back to back on Thursday and Friday is impressive stuff – and alongside the odd hangover, there were some achey legs and lower backs.
The winners
Congratulations to Sam Thomas, and all on team blue for winning 2025’s tournament.
With the scores now deliciously poised at 2-2, you know that 2026 will be bigger than ever. Hive19 will be there, whether we have to get Aaron some lessons, or with a pimped up buggy catering to the many requests he had across day 1 & 2.
